Corners of the Internet #5

Well, here we are again, friends.

I’ve recently decided that Friday mornings are my favorite time of the week. Specifically, before noon. Why? I love that the weekend stretches out in front of me, appearing endless from my vantage point. I love attending my favorite class at the gym on Friday mornings, taught by Chris, a crazy guy who teaches with such sheer enthusiasm, that I can’t help but leave revved up for the day. And I usually work from home on Fridays, which is a treat if only for the lack of the dreaded commute.

While I’m  off to Berlin for the weekend, to help my sister celebrate her 30th birthday in style, here are a few of the best things that I’ve been reading on the world wide web recently. Enjoy!

Problems that will only make sense to people with siblings. Doesn’t everyone’s mom call them by the wrong name regularly?

The fact that I even know what ‘hipster food’ is, is a problem.

In the Department Store of the Mind, you can shop by mood.

One night this week I couldn’t sleep. So I did what I always do in those terrible moments. I read longform journalism for an hour. Check out these in depth analyses on life without parole, when adoptive parents kill their adopted child, and how one tragic plane crash could have been prevented.

And I wonder why I have trouble sleeping after that…

I am loving my Get to Work Book, the planner I chose to help me organize my life for the year. Also, Elise, who created the planner, hosts one of the few podcasts that I haven’t fired from my feed.

As a blogger who focuses mostly on travel, I spend an insane amount of time reading other travel blogs, to help me plan upcoming trips, or to get inspired. Here are a few recent articles worth perusing if you have a case of the winter doldrums, or are on a planning binge yourself!

Ok, I’m off to make a birthday cake for my sister who is out exploring London while I work. I was going to go all ambitious with this, or this. But I think I’ll keep it easy with a Victoria Sponge, a British classic.
