Corners of the Internet #6
Greetings from Sri Lanka. We’ve been doing our best this week not to get bogged down in all things internet, but you know me. Can’t. Stay. Away.
Here’s what’s been on my mind and in those oft-neglected corners of the internet:
Leading up to our holiday, I went on a tear, unearthing my swimsuits, digging out the sunscreen. I am notoriously pale, and burn super easily, so this step is quite critical. The internet did not help my stress levels, offering up all kinds of preparation that must be done prior to relaxing on a beach.
I did buy a new swimsuit, got a spray tan, a manicure and a haircut. Being high maintenance is certainly a lot of, well, maintenance.
One of the best things I’ve read online recently is this article, about how romance changes after ten years of marriage. We’re almost at that milestone, and so much of this rings true.
On the plane to Sri Lanka, I binged watched the Bourne trilogy. It is just so good, and who doesn’t want to be an undercover CIA assassin. Oh, just me? I can’t wait for the new flick.
Twelve hours after we return to London, we are hosting brunch for fifteen. We’re making:
You may have missed us waxing poetic about our recent trip to Berlin, traveling with my crazy sister and the ultimate guide of what to eat the next time you’re at Borough Market.
Finally, a few inspirational articles to get you through the last days of February:
- Juliana’s hilarious friendaversary
- The nuts and bolts of how to vote while living abroad
- Jackie’s latest podcast, her own story about transitioning to solo travel
- Kim got a book deal!
- I love Katie’s monthly round-ups, but this one was more heavy and open-ended than normal
- Heart be still – kids reading to dogs
With that, we’re off to enjoy our last night in Sri Lanka and prepare mentally for a long ass flight home.
